Danita Grant, President of the Rotary Club of Dubuque, has announced the completion of two significant projects in 2019. Dubuque Rotarians participated in a Global Rotary Grant created to purchase vital and necessary equipment for Eastern Iowa Health Centers. Dubuque’s Crescent Community Health Center will receive $31,550 of needed equipment including:
·         A Pediatric Dental X-Ray Sensor
·         Two Dental Sterilization Machines
·         A Pediatric Scale
·         Tonometer (Eye Injuries)
·         Typanometer (Ear Infection Diagnosis)
·         Audiometer (Hearing Screening)
·         Two Vaccine Refrigerators
·         Vaccine Freezer

The recent “Santa Cash” campaign successfully raised $5,999.70 for Dubuque’s share of the Grant and distributed five $1,000 cash prizes to winners of the drawing.

And, in 2019, the Dubuque Rotary Club set an ambitious goal of raising $279,054 for Rotary International's PolioPlus Campaign. As of December 31, 2019, under the leadership of Rotarian Chuck Weber, the club has met that goal.

Since 1985 when Rotary launched its PolioPlus program, more than $1.7 billion has been raised in the world's first initiative to tackle the global eradication of Polio through the mass vaccination of children around the globe. Rotary also provided countless volunteer hours to immunize more than 2.5 billion children in 122 countries.
